Before opening your booth, each tenant will supply the first month's rent and a security deposit equal to one month's rent.

Sales Tax Permits In addition to personal information on each lease, we require each tenant to provide a copy of the certificate from the State of Texas proving that sales tax will be collected and reported to the state. It only takes a few minutes to get this permit. Merchants who do not have this form can apply for one at:

Here at Market Place Austin we have liability insurance for our own equipment and operations. We strongly suggest that each merchant obtain renters and liability insurance for their area from their own sources. Marketplace insurance will not cover merchants for theft, damage, accidents, or any other losses incurred at the individual's places of business. 

Market Place Austin does not store or sell furniture or display cases for merchant spaces. Each merchant is encouraged to obtain their own, or ask other businesses in the Marketplace for supplies, fixtures, shelving, and other furniture.

Some spaces in the front and rear and along the wall of the building are available for rent by the square foot. The cost is between $4.00 and $5.00 per sq. ft. depending on location. Tenants are required to construct their own space, including walls, electricity, ceiling, floor, and furnishing. In addition, a one-time construction fee will be charged at lease signing. Remember that all spaces must be permitted and inspected by the City of Austin prior to opening to the public.
